2012 Queensland Training Awards - Nominations open
The search for Queensland's top training talent has kicked off, with nominations open for the 51st Queensland Training Awards.
Employment, Skills and Mining Minister Stirling Hinchliffe said the awards recognise outstanding achievement in vocational education and training, and encouraged employers, students, teachers and providers who excel in these areas to enter.

The Government has responded to the 14 recommendations of the Queensland Post-secondary Education and Training Review outlining a commitment to set a new direction for an integrated tertiary education and training system in Queensland.

Queensland Education Trust community forums
Have your say on the State Government's proposal to use royalties from Liquefied Natural Gas projects to establish a multi-billion dollar Queensland Education Trust. A series of community forums to discuss the trust will be held across the state from early February.

Next mining and gas jobs expos announced
The dates of a further four Work for Queensland Mining and Gas Jobs Expos have been announced. The Queensland Government, in partnership with major resources industry employers, is hosting the free one-day jobs expos in Logan, Ipswich, Toowoomba and Brisbane during the first two weeks of February.

Regional Queensland universities receive funding boost
Three Queensland universities will receive more than $145 million in Australian Government funding to boost higher education in regional centres and support partnerships with TAFE to create a more integrated tertiary sector.
