Training student information

The Department of Education, Training and Employment administers the Vocational Education, Training and Employment Act 2000 and monitors registered training organisations' (RTOs) compliance with registration requirements.

The department also regulates and quality assures the provision of courses to international students in Queensland in accordance with the Commonwealth Education Services for Overseas Students (ESOS) Act 2000 and the Queensland Education (Overseas Students) Act 1996.

On occasion, the department responds to complaints made by consumers about training and assessment products, outcomes and services provided by training organisations.

To protect yourself as a consumer of training services, you should familiarise yourself with the department's consumer checklist and consider each point before enrolling in a training course.
