Integrated Articulation and Credit Transfer (IACT) project
Project Summary
The Integrated Articulation and Credit Transfer (IACT) project explores the barriers to successful articulation pathways and beneficial partnerships and agreements between the education and training sectors as highlighted by the Phillips KPA 'Giving Credit Where Credit is Due' project (2006). The project seeks to find ways to improve industry input into articulation pathway development. It also aims to improve the levels of transferability and sustainability of articulation models and pathways between stakeholders. Ultimately, the project seeks to make articulation pathways easy to establish for stakeholders and seamless for students.
Project Partners
The IACT project is a partnership between the University of Southern Queensland (USQ), the Queensland Department of Education and Training (DET), the Australian Council for Private Education and Training (ACPET) and Careers Australia Group (CAG).
Funding
The IACT project is funded by the Department of Education, Employment and Workplace Relations (DEEWR) through the Diversity and Structural Adjustment (DASA) Fund.
Background
The Review of Australian Higher Education (Bradley 2008) and other recent Commonwealth Government policy directions and initiatives emphasise the need for the provision of more seamless pathways and improvement in articulation arrangements and partnerships between the VET and higher education sectors.
