Implementation plan
The implementation plan details specific statewide skills acquisition and workforce planning initiatives and activities to reduce current and expected future labour shortages by expanding the labour pool. The plan reflects multi-agency support and identifies lead agency responsibility.
The implementation plan contains a significant number of established initiatives and activities. In developing the strategy the importance of continuing activities undertaken by government agencies and the public providers of education and vocational training that are already making a difference has been reinforced.
Additional emphasis is also placed on unifying activities and engagement with Queensland's booming resources sector and key growth industries. Building upon partnerships entered into with the corporate and community sectors enables the mobilisation of the practical support needed to increase and sustain workforce participation. A focus on job and enterprise opportunities underscores the expected improvements in inter-agency and inter-governmental collaboration in the development and maintenance of infrastructure and the delivery of services in rural and remote communities.
