Examples of successful international projects managed through TAFE Queensland International in partnership with TAFE Queensland include:
Technical and Vocational Education and Training Skills Scholarships (TVE TSS) Program, Papua New Guinea (PNG)
The PNG-TVETSS program was developed to train and equip PNG citizens with the skills to meet the trade skills deficiency in local industries and desired competencies under the Papua New Guinea National Vision 2050. This program seeks to upskill approximately 2,000 PNG citizens in five years.
TQI has managed various aspects of these projects including:

preparation of a Memorandum of Understanding and contract arrangements

identification of suitable training providers and liaised with them to develop the desired program offering and delivery models

submission of progress and final reports to the clients
-
program profiling and promotion to support the project and all key stakeholders involved
-
logistics management, including payment of students' stipend, establishment allowance and other payments or invoicing.
China Ministry of Education Senior Officer Visit
The two days professional program provided the client with the opportunity to learn different elements of Australian Education Regulatory System, and visit leading Queensland VET providers, in order to gain specific market intelligence, share information, identify joint areas of interests, priorities and explore commercial opportunities.
The visit included meetings with key international units within the Department of Education, Training and Employment as well as the key Queensland ELICOS, VET and Higher Education Institutions.
Technical Scholarship Pilot Project, Chile
TAFE Queensland institutes and TQI successfully delivered the Chilean Technical Scholarship Pilot project. A first cohort of 20 VET students undertook 12 months of English language and technical studies in mining and renewable energy at TAFE Queensland.
The pilot project involved 4 TAFE Queensland Institutes working in collaboration with TQI. It was awarded the Best Practice/Innovation in International Education Award in 2009, an initiative of the International Education Association of Australia (IEAA).
