Green Skills Agreement Implementation Plan
The Green Skills Agreement [PDF 105kB] is an agreement between the Australian, state and territory governments to build the capacity of the Vocational Education and Training (VET) sector to deliver the skills for sustainability required in the workplace.
The Agreement has four primary objectives. These are to:
- develop national standards within the requirements of the regulatory framework in skills for sustainability instruction
- review and revise training packages to incorporate skills for sustainability
- upskill vocational education and training teachers and instructors to deliver skills for sustainability
- implement strategies to reskill vulnerable workers in the transition to a low carbon economy.
Submissions on the draft Green Skills Agreement Implementation Plan were invited from organisations operating in or working with the VET sector from April 22 to May 7, 2010.
Information and comments included in submissions were used to finalise the implementation plan and may be used to inform the development of other Queensland and national policies.
The final Green Skills Agreement Implementation Plan is available on the Australian Department of Education, Employment and Workplace Relations website.
