Student complaints

International students, who are studying in Australia on a student visa and wish to raise a complaint regarding their training, should firstly do so directly with the provider through the training provider's complaints resolution process.

Students who are not satisfied with this process, should contact the independent mediation services offered by the institute or contact the Dispute Resolution Branch of the Department of Justice and Attorney-General. There are six Dispute Resolution Centres throughout Queensland.

The Brisbane Dispute Resolution Centre is located at:

Level 1
Brisbane Magistrates Court
363 George Street
Brisbane QLD 4000

Telephone: +61 7 3239 6269 or 1800 017 288 (toll free outside Brisbane).

Complaints about a training organisation

If you are not satisfied with the quality of service or the training you have received, speak to your training provider first as they can provide you with information about how to lodge a complaint. RTOs are required by national standards to handle complaints efficiently and effectively.

If you are not satisfied with the way your training provider has handled your complaint, lodge a complaint with the Department of Education and Training which has complaints handling procedures to ensure all complaints are comprehensively investigated and managed.

Complaints should be sent via email or posted to the address below:
