Licensing relations unit
The Licensing relations unit specialises in providing industry regulators with guidance on understanding the vocational education and training system. The unit works to assist industy regulators to develop appropriate strategies to integrate training and assessment for occupational licensing and regulatory purposes into the vocational education and training (VET) system.
The unit is also available to provide relevant information and assistance to registered training organisations delivering, or wishing to deliver, training and assessment with an occupational licensing or regulatory outcome.
A main activity of the unit is managing the national Licensing Line News project, which is a comprehensive information resource for training and licensing stakeholders on occupational licensing and its intersection with the VET system.
The Licensing Line News website and monthly enewsletter provide the latest news and information on occupational licensing and regulatory matters which impact on training and assessment. The website also provides extensive background and explanatory information on the integration of occupational licensing into VET and other COAG occupational licensing reform initiatives including the National Licensing System.
