​Three Queenslanders chosen for national skills squad

The WorldSkills Australia Skills Squad has been announced with a record number of female competitors selected to join Australia's 24-member elite international team.

Following their successful performances at the recent National Competition in Melbourne, the squad includes three WorldSkills Queensland competitors - go team!

Twenty-four young men and women aged 23 and under will spend the next year training with a dedicated skills mentor, vying for the opportunity to join over 1,000 young people from 75 countries at WorldSkills International Competition to be held in Abu Dhabi next October.

The Australian Skills Squad features nine women and 15 men. The Queenslanders chosen are:

  • Teegan DuToit, Fashion Technology
  • Emilia Montague, Restaurant Service
  • Nathan McHugh, Refrigeration and Air conditioning.
