Skills for Queensland

Queenslanders across the state are invited to have their say on Skills for Queensland.

The vocational education and training (VET) sector is critical to ensuring Queenslanders have the right skills to work in priority jobs across a wide range of industries. Making the right investment in VET will ensure Queenslanders have the skills that employers need now and in the future.

The Queensland Government has released the discussion paper Skills for Queensland for public consultation. The discussion paper invites feedback from stakeholders to inform a new Queensland VET strategy.

Stakeholder views are sought on key questions related to three themes:

  • meeting the need for skills through industry advice and market settings
  • the role of providers in delivering VET services
  • encouraging all Queenslanders to participate in VET.

Feedback from stakeholders will contribute to the development of a VET strategy to build a Queensland VET sector that is flexible and responsive and provides pathways to job outcomes for students as well as delivering the skills employers need now and into the future.
