Advancing Apprentices Fund

The Queensland Government is partnering with industry to promote priority apprenticeship pathways and encourage more businesses to employ apprentices, as part of the new $1 million Advancing Apprentices Fund.

The fund supports the state's commitment to creating jobs for a strong economy and providing responsive government.

Industry groups and other peak bodies will be able to apply for matched funding to run industry-specific or local campaigns to generate interest in recruiting apprentices among the Queensland business community.

A series of ministerial roundtables will inform the development of the fund.

How to apply

Applications for the fund will be considered on an ongoing basis. Applications are assessed by a panel of government and external representatives with experience in the Queensland apprenticeship system.

Applications are assessed on the following criteria: value for money, campaign reach, campaign priority, campaign productivity and capacity to manage.

Eligible organisations include:

  • industry associations, industry groups and peak industry bodies
  • other peak organisations (professional or employee organisations)
  • Queensland businesses (directly involved with apprentices).
