​​​​​​​Trade Skills Assessment and Gap Training

The Trade Skills Assessment and Gap Training program aims to assess the skills of experienced individuals who can demonstrate substantial competency in a priority trade qualification and provide gap training of no more than one-third of the competencies to complete the trade qualification.

2016-17 funding information

Who can apply for funding?

Department approved User Choice pre-qualified suppliers who have industry and employer support for the program and can demonstrate the capacity to manage the provision of technical training based on industry specific standards to enter the relevant trade occupation.

What is funded?

The program supports eligible participants to access a subsidised training place under the Annual VET Investment Plan.

Funding is available for trade skills assessments and the subsequent gap training to enable eligible participants to complete a priority trade qualification.

How are applications assessed?

Applications are assessed against set criteria. Applicants must demonstrate their capacity to manage the proposed project. Information on the assessment criteria for 2016-17 will be published on this website when finalised.
