Entertainment

Tate Obst

Tate has loved playing music, singing and performing for as long as he can remember. In fact you could say it's in his veins, with a long span of local musical history on both sides of his family. Since early childhood he's had a broad list of cultural experiences from school bands to theatre, solo performances to collaborations with other local musicians including Felix Hadock-Quadrio and his brother Jasper.

When you catch him at a gig around town every other weekend, you'll see he's a talented and experimental acoustic guitarist and vocalist with a particular passion for contemporary Australian music. He's honed his skills in song writing in recent years, with a knack for bringing interesting rhythms and melodies together to make original songs that you won't easily get out of your head!

He was overall grand final winner for Mackay's Got Talent 2017 and since then has performed at Wintermoon Festival, Timberfest and Airlie Beach Music Festival and the successful fundraiser - Farm Raiser.

He has a new single on sound cloud 'You before me' - check it out.
