Master of Ceremonies

Samantha Kume

Queensland media personality Samantha Kume returns as Master of Ceremonies (MC) in 2017 - her tenth year as host of regional award ceremonies across Queensland.

Popular on-screen and on-stage, as both a Channel 9 television presenter and in-demand MC, Samantha's strong personal connection with Queensland Training Awards is obvious in the pride she takes in her role and in celebrating training generally.

Samantha is honoured to lead the Central Queensland region's tribute to the people and organisations striving for and achieving great things across the state's broad and diverse VET sector. Join Samantha as she shares her remarkable stories of this year's regional finalist - helping us shine the spotlight on training excellence in the Queensland Training Awards' 56th year.

The Short Fall

CQ QTA are excited to bring singer-songwriters The Short Fall to perform this year. The two brothers are almost single-minded in their approach to their song writing and harmonies; their voices blend perfectly and their guitars sing with such ease. Their current record, 'State of Mind' is a testament to their focus and belief in their songs, and has garnered radio play across the country and touring supports with the likes of Busby Marou, Wendy Matthews, Pete Murray, The Whitlams and The Hoodoo Gurus.

In addition to their original music, The Short Fall have also garnered a reputation as one of the most sought after corporate bands in the state, performing to clients including Diegeo, Toyota, Coca Cola, BMA Mining, Curragh Mining, Xstrata Coal, Hutchinson Builders and Beef Week to name a few. Don't miss seeing The Short Fall playing a mix of all your favourite tunes plus some of their own original music with their full band!
