2016-17 funding information
Who can apply for funding?
Representative industry organisations and employers seeking to prepare potential tradespeople to transition to an apprenticeship are eligible to apply for project funding.
What is funded?
The program supports eligible participants to access a subsidised training place under the Annual VET Investment Plan.
Funding is available for industry-led pre-apprenticeship programs that support the completion of national qualifications and facilitate participants' transition to an apprenticeship or other industry supported trade training pathway.
Funded organisations will coordinate, manage and implement the project in partnership with an approved training provider, known as a pre-qualified supplier (PQS).
How are applications assessed?
Applications are assessed against set criteria. Applicants must demonstrate their capacity to manage the proposed project. Information on the assessment criteria is available in the Industry Pre-apprenticeship Program Policy 2016-17 (PDF, 409KB or DOCX, 748KB).
What level of funding is available?
The amount of funding provided is dependent on the nature of the training and the participant support to be provided, and the number of participants targeted by the project.
